During the epic 2021 NBA playoffs, the Phoenix Suns were crushing it, bringing a wave of shared excitement to the valley. It was beautifully unified time for Phoenix. My Artist colleague Adrian Ramirez was asked to bring out a few artists to paint at a local bar/venue in the arts district of downtown Phoenix, to help draw more community engagement. The majority of us felt like it would be appropriate to focus on the Suns during their successful season. Little did we know, this idea would only further the excitement throughout the valley, landing local news coverage, along with driving more Suns murals to pop up around town. We’ll all remember that exciting time we shared as a city, and we’ll also remember the great disappointment we shared when we didn’t win in the finals.
